Rakaposhi is a fine- looking mountain present in the mountain
range of Karakoram. It’s located in the
vale of Nagar which is 100 kilometers to the north of Gilgit. The
original people have given it the name of Rakaposhi. Rakaposhi means covered
with snow. It indicates that the mountain is always covered with snow.
Rakaposhi is also honored as Dumani.
Dumani means the mama of mist. It’s on the 27th position in the
loftiest peaks of the world and 12th in Pakistan. still, this mountain is substantially known for its beauty and eye-
catching views. Rakaposhi’s first ascent was made in the time of 1958 by Tom
Patey and Mike Banks. Both these people had a British- Pakistani passage through the Ridge route. During their
ascent, both of them suffered from the frostbites. One of them had a fall while
making the descent in the night and
